INTRODUCTION
Indian
wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik on Wednesday accused Wrestling
Federation of India (WFI) president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh of sexual
harassment. Brijbhushan Singh is a BJP
MP who challenged Raj Thackeray's Ayodhya visit. Even then it was in discussion. Vinesh Phogat said, 'Women wrestlers'
president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh and coaches sexually harass in national
camps. Some coaches assigned to national
camps have been sexually harassing women wrestlers for years.
Many women wrestlers also complained about this. According to the Times of India, the federation had called for a new referee for the Senior Wrestling Championship in Visakhapatnam. The new umpires did not know the rules. They gave wrong decisions. Due to this, dissatisfaction has spread among the players and fights have also taken place. Bajrang Punia's trainer Sujit Mann was suspended by the federation after questioning a match decision. Sujit Mann's name is missing from the senior camp at Sonepat. Due to such arbitrariness of the federation, the Dharna movement is taking place.
WHAT
IS THE ISSUE?
Brijbhushan
Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India, is a Bharatiya
Janata Party Member of Parliament from the Kaisarganj Lok Sabha constituency in
the Bahraich district of UP. He has been
elected as a member of the Lok Sabha six times so far. He had also challenged last year that
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray would not be allowed to step
foot in Ayodhya due to his stance against North Indians. Due to this, it was also in discussion. Learned
about this from a letter written to the President - WFI Assistant Secretary On
the protest against WFI wrestlers, WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar said, I
don't know why this is going on. All the
wrestlers have written letters to the WFI President, in which I got to know
about the protest. I am here to ask
their problems.
APPROACH
OF POLICE AND GOVERNMENT
Wrestler
Bajrang Punia said that the players who have complained. Police and government will be responsible if
anything happens to them. Pressure is
being put on those who complain against the federation. At the same time, Babita Phogat said that
Sakshi Malik snatched the report of the inquiry committee from her hands. It was also signed. He has also raised the question of how the
investigation will be fair if it is being investigated in this way. The Delhi
Police have registered cases against the wrestlers and their supporters
protesting at Jantar Mantar for rioting and obstructing the work of government
employees.
WRESTLER’S

An
FIR has been filed against Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat. According

capital Delhi on Sunday. The wrestlers organized Mahila Samman Mahapanchayat in
front of the new Parliament. The police
had denied permission to the Maha Panchayat on security grounds. There was a
scuffle and scuffle between the wrestlers and the police who were proceeding

CLASH
BETWEEN WRESTLERS AND THE GOVERNMENT
The protesting wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, were on their way from Jantar Mantar towards the new Parliament when they clashed with the police. The protesting wrestlers were trying to organize Mahila Samman Mahapanchayat in front of the new Parliament.
STATEMENTS
OF RELATED AUTHORITIES
"We respect the sportspersons but we will
not allow any form of obstruction in the inauguration ceremony of the new
Parliament," said Delhi Special Commissioner of Police Dipendra Pathak. In
the capital Delhi, on the one hand, the inauguration ceremony of the new
Parliament is going on, while on the other hand, there was a clash between the
police and wrestlers. Sakshi Malik has
said that the wrestlers were arrested. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has staged a
protest at Delhi's Gazipur border after being prevented from going to Jantar
Mantar in support of women wrestlers. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata
Banerjee has also tweeted. She said,
"I strongly condemn the way the Delhi Police have dealt with Sakshi Malik,
Vinesh Phogat and other wrestlers. Our champions have been mistreated.
Tolerance is expected in a democracy. But now dictators have become intolerant and It is working to suppress the discontent. I demand that the government immediately release the wrestlers. I am with the wrestlers."
Bajrang Punia also tweeted and said, "Does a government treat its players like this? What crime have we committed"? Bajrang has asked this question. The protesting wrestlers had gone to India Gate from Jantar Mantar a few days ago. He organized a candle march at India Gate. Wrestlers have accused Indian Wrestling Federation President Brijbhushan Singh of sexual harassment. Two FIRs have been lodged against him. The wrestlers had taken a stand that they would not end the agitation unless Brijbhushan was arrested.
VIEW
OF WRESTLING FEDERATION OF INDIA
Then there was the question of how the federation viewed interference in wrestlers' commercial partnerships. Earlier last year, Indian wrestlers were sponsored by several organizations. Last year, the WFI partnered with one of them to encourage wrestlers who signed with other contractors to sign with the first. WFI has also clarified that all sponsorship funds should be handled exclusively through his WFI.
The
decision to protest was made at a rally in Sonepat the day before the wrestlers
gathered at Jantar Mantar. The only people who knew about it were the few
elderly wrestlers present on the first day. "The more people knew about
the matter, the more likely it was to leak. And we also knew we had to be there
together." I've heard people come forward and they've been
threatened," Vinesh said.
